This is a sketch made by Darian of what our motor was going to look like. For this project, we had to research different types of rockets. Black powder rockets and sugar powder rockets. For ours, we choose sugar rocket because we wanted to try something different. Most other people that choose sugar rockets; their rocket blew up and most the black powder rockets worked.
When launch day came, our rocket did very well compared to the other sugar rockets surprisingly. It had a decent burn time and luckily didn't explode like a lot of the other sugar rockets. This was a very successful rocket test for Darian and I.
Once we were done we collected the data to see how our rocket preformed. We had a max thrust amount around 1100 and our rocket burned for around 7 seconds. Overall this was a fun experiment and Darian and I did well. If I were to do this project again I would try a black powder rocket instead of sugar to see how it would come out comparing to the sugar rocket. I'm going to continue to work with Darian because I feel we work very well together because all of the projects we have worked on together, they have come out well and we are very good at communicating.
