The scratch rocket project, was a project that was available in section 2. For this project, we had to construct a rocket from scratch that will be able to fly. Right away I chose Darian as my partner for this project because I know how well we work together. Our rocket was mostly made out of cardboard including the fins and 12 inches long and 1 inch diameter. Looking back, Our experiment turned out very well. We thought our rocket wouldn't fly as well as it did mostly because our rocket was almost all cardboard. When we fired it, it sort of leaned to the left and we lost the rocket because it fell in the bay. Looking inward, I did get the results I wanted. I feel like we could've done better. The reason I feel like we got those results was because we were limited on time and we started later than some others and a couple times in the project we would work on other things. Looking outward, my partner for this project was Darian. We've worked on every single project together for Andrews class this year. Overall we both put some effort into this project and we both contributed an equal amount to building this rocket. Looking forward for next time, if I were to ever do this project again, I would put a lot more time into it than I did this section. I would have also made the fins out of something else other than cardboard so it could fly better. For our next big project, i'm most likely going to choose Darian again because we communicate very well and so far this year we have worked great together. If I could continue this experiment I would because I found this a fun project and I enjoy building rockets and if I had the time I would build a model rocket. |
