For this lab, I worked by myself. The procedure was to first obtain a saw tray and fill it with water and find a material that floats easy. Next I had to cut out a triangle in the back of the material and opening to the outside and place it in the water and observe it. When I first placed it in the water, I didn't do much but just float. After that I had to rub a small amount of dish soap on the inside of the triangle I made. When I placed it back in the water I was really surprised. The boat that I made moved from the start to the end of the tray in about 1 second.
As you see in the video the boat moves pretty quick. After this, I did the test with another boat I made. Instead of cutting out a triangle I cut out a square in the back. I repeated the process and once again when I placed the second boat in the water and I did nothing but float. When I put dish soap on the back of it inside the square boat did nothing this time.
This was actually a fun little lab to do at home. I did get the results I wanted by I was a little disappointed of the second boat. I think I preformed well in this little lab because I stayed focused and got it all done. If I could do this lab again I would try more shapes to see how the boat would react with and without dish soap. There was also a second part to this activity.
For the second part of this lab, I had to cover a large plate or tray with milk and add 3-5 drops of food coloring on the milk in different places. One I did that I had to add a drop of dish soap on each area where the food coloring was.

This was really fun and I loved the results I got! I was really cool to see this happen and how the food coloring reacted to the dish soap. For this part I also worked by myself and I think I preformed really well. If I could continue this experiment, I would add more colors and a bigger tray to get more results.
